Bogota came alive with vibrant colours and cultural pride as the city hosted a special showcase of Colombia’s iconic Blacks & Whites Carnival, a UNESCO-recognised cultural heritage tradition from San Juan de Pasto. Giant puppets, traditional music, Andean-inspired masks, and colourful dance troupes filled Plaza Bolívar, captivating hundreds of spectators. For the second consecutive year, nearly 200 artists brought the spirit of the Pasto carnival to the capital—symbolising unity, diversity, and cultural integration. The showcase highlighted the festival’s rich traditions, including the symbolic black-and-white face-painting that celebrates ethnic diversity. A powerful display of heritage, colour, and Colombia’s vibrant identity.
