Bremmer argued that President Donald Trump is leading a political revolution aimed at reshaping the American system from within, driven by his belief that US institutions were weaponised against him. According to Bremmer, Trump sees domestic political opponents-not foreign adversaries-as the primary threat and is moving to politicise key institutions, weaken checks and balances, and consolidate executive power before 2028.
