Bhupen Borah Reveals Why Talks With Congress Failed After Quitting The Party

Bhupen Borah said discussions with Congress leaders collapsed because the party failed to address serious concerns he had raised, including a spokesperson's public claim that 45 Assembly seats would be reserved for Muslims if the party returned to power under Gaurav Gogoi. Borah said that despite multiple letters demanding action, the party delayed its response and later even recommended the spokesperson for a ticket, prompting him to conclude that he could no longer remain with the Congress.
