A team from the Election Commission of India, led by Deputy Election Commissioner Ganesh Bharti, has begun reviewing preparations for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in West Bengal. Senior district officials, including DMs and police officers, are attending the meeting at the Chief Electoral Officer’s office. The team will also visit Rajarhat Gopalpur and Purba Medinipur to assess voter list and poll booth readiness ahead of the SIR rollout.
