Badruddin Ajmal On Exit Polls: “Let Himanta Biswa Sarma Daydream Over Exit Polls”

After exit polls projected a massive win for the BJP-led NDA in Assam, Badruddin Ajmal, one of the key opposition leaders, told NDTV that such projections should not be taken as final results. Dismissing the surveys as unreliable, he said leaders like Himanta Biswa Sarma were “daydreaming” over exit polls and insisted the reality would be different on counting day. Ajmal also pointed to missed political opportunities, saying the opposition could have performed better with a stronger alliance with the Congress. He expressed confidence that their vote share would grow and predicted that exit polls would “fall flat” once actual results are declared.
