Triangular Contest On Assam's Muslim-Majority Seat Dhubri
This phase 3 hot seat from Assam is seeing a triangular fight for the Muslim majority population - the prestigious Dhubri Lok Sabha. Perfume baron and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Maulana Badaruddin Ajmal has been winning this seat since 2009. This time, he is facing off with two strong candidates - Congress's Rakibul Hussain, a prominent leader from the Muslim community, and former minister Zabed Islam, fielded by BJP's ally in the state, the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP).
