Assam News | Opposition Alleges ' Vote Chori' In Assam's Electoral Rolls Special Revision
In a significant development, the Congress-led opposition in Assam on Tuesday filed a police complaint at the Dispur Police Station in Guwahati, alleging “vote theft” through the ongoing Special Revision (SR) of the electoral rolls in the state. The complaint has been lodged against the ruling BJP, accusing it of carrying out the Special Revision exercise in collusion with the Election Commission to deliberately manipulate the voters’ list. Over the past few days, opposition parties in Assam have claimed that the Special Revision of electoral rolls is being misused to delete the names of genuine voters ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
