Assam Government's New Laws To Stop Love Jihad & Land Jihad: Himanta Sarma
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Sunday that the state would implement a new domicile policy, restricting government job eligibility to those born in Assam. Addressing a state Executive meeting of BJP in Guwahati, he also declared that his government would soon bring a law for life imprisonment in so-called 'love jihad' cases. He also promised to target alleged 'Land jihad' to control inter-religious land transfer. The main opposition Congress has hit back saying he is diverting attention from the core issues, alleging Assam CM of not speaking on issues that were promised in BJP's vision document in the 2021 Assam polls.
