The Tamil Nadu assembly has passed the 10 bills Governor RN Ravi had returned a few days ago with an "assent withheld" note. These will be sent back to him for approval for the second time. RN Ravi had sent them back a few days ago after the Supreme Court made strong observations expressing serious concerns over the delay in giving assent to bills passed by the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly. Many of these bills aim to remove the Governor as Chancellor of state universities. NDTV's Sam Daniel spoke to the state finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu.
