Akali Dal Chief Sukhbir Singh Badal Recovers From Injury During Attack, Police Probe Intensifies

Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal is recovering at a private hospital in Nanded after being attacked at Mata Sahib Gurudwara on August 13. Badal, who was on a two-day visit to Nanded, was allegedly attacked with a kirpan by a Nihang Sikh identified as Jaspal Singh, a gurudwara sevadar. The attacker was caught and remains in police custody. Badal suffered an injury to his right hand, while a police inspector was also injured. The Akali Dal will continue its Punjab Bachao rallies as scheduled.
