3 Dead, Over 40 Rescued In Harrowing Mid-Air Rescue Operation

45 hours after cable cars collided on a ropeway in Jharkhand's Deoghar town, an Indian Air Force led operation was finally able to rescue over 40 people stranded midair in an extremely tough, dangerous and complicated situation. But there was shock and tragedy too - two of the three deaths in the incident came during the rescue - a woman fell to her death today while dangling from a rope when being lifted by a chopper and a man died in similar fashion last evening - he made it to a chopper but lost his grip at the last moment falling hundreds of feet into a gorge below.
