'12,000 Killed In 48 Hours': World Liberty Congress Member Alleges Mass Killings In Iran

In an exclusive conversation with NDTV, Neda Soltani, Member of the World Liberty Congress, claimed that the death toll from Iran's ongoing crackdown on protesters may be far higher than officially acknowledged. Citing what she described as a credible report, later authenticated by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shirin Ebadi, Soltani said as many as 12,000 civilians may have been killed within a 48-hour period. She emphasised that Iranian citizens protesting for basic rights and dignity are facing unprecedented violence, even as the Iranian government continues to dispute casualty figures.
