Air travel is certainly convenient when it comes to reaching a destination quickly. But let us be honest – it is not always comfortable. From cramped legroom to fellow passengers taking up extra space, the journey can feel exhausting, especially on international flights. In such cases, all you wish for is an entire row to yourself, isn't it? Well, Air India actually makes that possible. Digital creator Abhinav Chand's latest Instagram post shows how to use this feature for maximum comfort.

The video showed the creator walking inside Terminal 3 at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. He was travelling to Haneda Airport, also known as Tokyo International Airport. Sharing details about the personal-row booking trick, he revealed that travellers flying in economy class can use this function during their web check-ins, provided the flight is relatively empty.

The clip showed an “upgrade” option on the official Air India website with business and economy class choices. The economy section was further divided into two options. The first, called the “Neighbour-free seat”, allowed passengers to block the seat right beside them, ensuring no one sits next to them. It costs Rs 4,654. The other option, known as “Block Entire Row”, gives flyers “maximum extra space” for Rs 7,446. The creator chose the latter.

Abhinav Chand advised viewers not to block seats near the emergency exit row, as the booking process can get complicated. Offering a demo, he spread an inflatable camping mat across the three seats and lay down comfortably. His secret hack? Not waiting until check-in to book either of the seat-blocking options, as the feature is already available on Air India's official website.

All you have to do is go to the “manage booking” section, enter your PNR details and last name – and voila! You unlock your preferred seat in advance, minus the hassle. The digital creator added that this unique seat category is available on international flights. He was not sure whether it works for domestic flights as well.
