An interracial couple in the United States is sparking conversations after sharing a humorous video about how foreigners reportedly behave after visiting India. The clip, posted on Instagram by content creators Shiv and Liz, comes with the caption, “Based on true events. This happens to us a lot whenever we meet anyone who comes back from India. The video is obviously exaggerated.”
In the video, Liz plays a foreigner returning from India. When asked about her trip, she casually replies, “Goa,” and adds that she stayed there for just two days, showing the comically over-the-top excitement some travellers show after a brief visit.

As the conversation progresses, Liz starts spouting cliches about India, like ordering "chai tea latte", a redundant term, as "chai" already means tea, and mentioning "yoga" in a way that's more about projecting a stereotype. She then advises Shiv, the person she's talking to, to visit India, which becomes ironic when Shiv responds, "I am Indian."

Frustrated with Liz's pretentiousness and superficial understanding of India, Shiv walks out of the conversation. He mutters under his breath, "Pagal hi ho gye hai. Pata nahi kya kya karte rehte hai" (They have all gone mad. I don't know what they keep doing). The sketch humorously critiques the trend of foreigners visiting India for a short period and then claiming to be experts on the culture.

The post went viral online, with NRIs flooding the comments section. Some laughed at how relatable it felt, while others confessed that they've also met this type of person in real life.

One user wrote, "Aahhh yes, the enlightened ones… who treat spirituality as a holiday package plan!"

Another added, "Guys seriously, cannot stop laughing."
