Udan Yatri Cafe continues to expand its footprint across the country, enhancing the airport experience with affordable and quality food options such as tea, coffee, samosa, water, and more, starting at Rs 10.
The Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Ram Mohan Naidu, on Sunday virtually inaugurated the Udan Yatri Cafes at 11 airports, including Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (Lucknow), Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport (Patna), Rajkot International Airport, Jammu Airport, Srinagar International Airport, Jaipur International Airport, and Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport (Indore).
In an X post, the Union Minister revealed that, along with the cafes, several other passenger-centric facilities were inaugurated at 57 airports across the country, from Rajkot Airport.
Other initiatives include Digi Yatra, enabling seamless access and free Wi-Fi facilities. The launch package also included the inauguration of Flybrary - a free library for travellers - along with dedicated kids' zones and AVSAR (Airports as Venue for Skilled Artisans) outlets promoting local SHG products.
Beyond these 11 airports, Udan Yatri Cafes are already operational at airports in Kolkata, Chennai, Pune, Vijayawada, Donyi Polo (Itanagar), Bhubaneswar, Surat, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Mangaluru, Thiruvananthapuram, and Coimbatore.
Udan Yatri Cafe Menu: Regional Dishes At Affordable Prices
The typical menu includes tea for Rs 10, a water bottle for Rs 10, coffee for Rs 20, a snack for Rs 20, and a "sweet of the day" for Rs 20. Passengers appreciate the initiative for providing airport food that is both affordable and of good quality.
The snack and sweet options on the menu differ from airport to airport, depending on local flavours. For example, Pune Airport serves Vada Pav, while Chennai Airport offers Vadai, as per reports. At Coimbatore Airport, you'll find Medhu Vada, and the Vijayawada Airport outlet sells Kachori or Patties. One snack item, however, seems common across most Udan Yatri Cafes - the classic Samosa.
