The newest chapter in the iconic Jurassic saga was shot much closer to home than you might expect. Here's the scoop on Jurassic World Rebirth bringing dinosaurs to life right here in Thailand.
For years, the Jurassic Park films have stuck to their mythical islands — names like Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna ring a bell for any fan. Of course, these places don't exist, so lush Hawaiian landscapes have always stepped in to play pretend. But this time, Rebirth leaves those familiar islands behind. Instead, director Gareth Edwards decided to switch things up, choosing Thailand's stunning scenery as the backdrop for the franchise's next dinosaur adventure.

Originally, the team was scouting various locations around the world. The producers considered several destinations — from the Dominican Republic and Mauritius to Panama and Costa Rica. In the end, they landed on Krabi, where director Gareth Edwards had previously filmed The Creator in 2023. To build the film's world, the crew blended Thailand's real landscapes with sets constructed in Malta, New York City, and London.

Filming kicked off in Thailand last June and ran for about a month, with the full production wrapping up by October. To bring the prehistoric world to life, the crew shot scenes across some of Thailand's most stunning spots — including Hat Chao Mai National Park in Trang, Ao Phang Nga National Park in Phang Nga, Khao Phanom Bencha National Park in Krabi, and the beautiful Sunset Beach on Ko Kradan. But the major part of the dino world this time was inspired by Krabi's breathtaking natural scenery.

Here Are 5 Places In Krabi Where You Can Feel The Magic Of Jurassic World Rebirth

1. Khao Phanom Bencha National Park

One of the main filming spots, Khao Phanom Bencha is a paradise for nature lovers. With dense jungle, waterfalls, and hidden caves, it's easy to imagine a T-Rex lurking behind the trees. Hike the park's trails, listen to the symphony of birds and insects, and cool off at Huai To Waterfall — it's cinematic beauty in real life.

2. Ao Thalane Bay

Though less famous than other beaches, Ao Thalane's dramatic mangrove forests and limestone canyons provide the perfect prehistoric vibe. Rent a kayak and paddle through narrow waterways surrounded by cliffs — you'll feel like you're exploring a lost world, minus the raptors.

3. Tambon Khao Thong

Tambon Khao Thong, nestled in Krabi province, is a serene coastal area known for its mangroves, limestone cliffs, and peaceful vibe. Popular for kayaking and island hopping, it offers stunning views of Phang Nga Bay. Visitors love its quiet charm, local seafood spots, and breathtaking sunsets over the Andaman Sea.

4. Railay Beach

A classic Krabi gem, Railay Beach's striking cliffs and hidden coves make it feel wonderfully remote. This area wasn't directly in the movie, but its otherworldly scenery fits right in with the Jurassic atmosphere. Rock climbers will especially love scaling the massive limestone walls that look like they belong in a dinosaur sanctuary.

5. Sunset Beach, Ko Kradan

Although technically in Trang, Ko Kradan's Sunset Beach was used for key scenes in Rebirth. With powdery sand and turquoise waters, it's the perfect day trip from Krabi. Catch a sunset and soak in the same dreamy views the cast and crew did.
