- Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw criticised IndiGo Stretch flight's in-flight food menu as uninviting and tasteless
- The gourmet vegetarian menu included detailed dish descriptions, calorie counts, and allergen info
- Shaw preferred regular menu items like upma, noodles, or sandwiches over the gourmet options
Biocon Chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw recently took an IndiGo Stretch flight - a business-class-like product with oversized seats. She was left unimpressed by the in-flight food menu, calling it "uninviting and tasteless." Taking to social media platform X, she shared a picture of the gourmet vegetarian menu, which listed dishes such as German lentil and feta salad with beetroot galouti, lavash with cream cheese yoghurt dip, thandai tres leches cake, and mixed nuts with pink salt and pepper. Each dish was accompanied by a detailed description, calorie information, and possible allergens. The menu also featured a selection of hot and cold beverages.
Sharing her honest reaction to the menu, Shaw wrote: "This what @IndiGo6E calls gourmet cuisine for the Stretch passengers! I prefer their regular items! Oberoi should introspect on this uninviting and tasteless menu-pls do a customer survey n I bet you there will be a 100%."
Replying to the post, an X user asked, "What would you rather prefer?"
To this, the entrepreneur replied, "My magic upma or noodles or even sandwiches!"
