Paying tribute to her father's 46 years of dedication before he signed off for the last time, Aastha introduced herself on board through a heartfelt poetic tribute, marking a rare and extremely touching father-daughter aviation moment. “Mere pitaa ke har ek sangharsh ko karti hoon saalam (I salute my father's every single struggle),” Aastha shared before welcoming his father.
Sandeep Puri's Last Flight As A Captain
In the video, the veteran pilot was seen thanking the people on board as his 46-year flying career came to an end on the IndiGo flight from Delhi to Deoghar. “It's a very special day for me. Especially, all my loved ones are here. My wife is sitting here. My son, Saurabh Puri, is also flying with me, and Aastha too is here,” he shared, showing his gratitude towards his family.
Soon after the video was shared online, it received a huge amount of love from social media users. “Proud daughter. Happy retirement, Captain," one of them wrote.

Who is Captain Sandeep Puri?
Captain Sandeep Puri's career has been a remarkable example of discipline and courage. He began his career with the Indian Air Force. He was commissioned in the Flying Branch of the IAF in 1981 and has held many important command and staff appointments, including commanding officer of a frontline Jaguar squadron and joint director and director of offensive operations at Air HQ (VB). After retiring from the IAF, he then joined IndiGo as a commercial pilot, flying millions of passengers safely to their destinations.
