If you are inspired by Anshula Kapoor and her fiance Rohan Thakkar's trip to New Orleans, here are the 5 things to do in the Louisiana city:
1. Embark on museum hopping
You can visit the tons of museums in New Orleans, which speak highly about the history of Mardi Gras and art. Some of them are the 1850 House, Confederate Memorial Hall, the Voodoo Museum, where you can also learn how to make a voodoo doll, and a few others.
2. Enjoy a ride on the Mississippi River steamboat
A half-day steamboat journey must be included on your to-do list while visiting New Orleans, located right on the Mississippi River. The two main steamboat operators, Creole Queen and Steamboat Natchez, offer a ride to an old battlefield, transporting you to the past.
3. Go on a shopping spree
If you love food and shopping, then St. Roch Market, French Market and Magazine Street are some of the must-visit places on your trip. You can pick up a few souvenirs from the wonderfully curated market. Additionally, relish local food items at various restaurants in this place.
4. Hike or bicycle in the city parks
New Orleans also offers some of the best outdoor activities. You can stroll through the Garden District and along St. Charles Street, or even rent a bicycle from Crescent City Bike Tours to wander among the tall oak trees with wind chimes hanging from them and lush green surroundings.
5. Enjoy dinner with a live show
For a perfect dining experience, you can visit the array of bars and restaurants, which also have live band performances. Don't forget to taste the craft cocktails and Cajun seafood.
