The NHAI offers Rs 1,000 FASTag recharge to travellers reporting unclean toilets at toll plazas via the Rajmargyatra app. Valid until October 31, the scheme covers only NHAI-maintained toilets, with AI and manual verification ensuring authenticity
The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) is rewarding highway travellers for helping maintain hygiene at toll plazas. Travellers who report unclean toilets at toll plazas can now earn a Rs 1,000 recharge on their FASTag accounts. Called the "Clean Toilet Picture Challenge", this initiative is part of NHAI's broader "Special Campaign 5.0" in the latest cleanliness drive. The scheme is valid for rewards until October 31.

How To Get Free Rs 1,000 Recharge On Your FASTTag
To receive the free recharge in your FASTag wallet, you must have the latest version of the Rajmargyatra app.
- Take a clear picture of the dirty toilet you spot on your way and upload it to the app.
- Enter details such as your user name, location, Vehicle Registration Number (VRN) and mobile number.
- Every VRN that reports such dirty washrooms will receive Rs 1,000 in prize money in the form of a FASTag recharge.
- The reward cannot be withdrawn as cash and will only be credited to the FASTag linked to the reported VRN.
Toilets that are built, operated, or maintained by the National Highways Authority of India are eligible for this scheme. Toilets at fuel stations, roadside dhabas, restaurants, or any public facility not managed by NHAI do not qualify.

How Does The App Verify Reports?
- Each toilet facility can only be considered once per day. Even if multiple travellers report the same toilet on the same day, only the first valid submission will be eligible for the reward.
- Reports must be submitted through the Rajmargyatra app and should include a clear image of the washroom with a proper geo-tag.
- The photo should also be time-stamped to determine which report came first in case of multiple submissions.
"Any manipulated, duplicate, or previously reported images will be rejected. Entries shall be verified through AI-assisted screening and manual validation, wherever necessary," said the Ministry in a press release.
