Travelling to and from Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport often feels more stressful than convenient. Heavy traffic, long distances from key hubs like Noida, Greater Noida, and central Delhi, and the challenge of finding reliable transport at odd hours make reaching the airport a constant worry. Coordinating with cabs, metros, or shared buses adds to the hassle, testing travellers' patience. However, some travellers may soon be able to enjoy a more comfortable way of leaving the airport. Starting next week, luxury buses will run directly between IGI Airport and Greater Noida at just Rs 199 per ride.
Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) announced the service on Friday. They will be operated jointly by DIAL and FlixBus. The initiative promises a premium, round-the-clock public transport option, offering passengers a smoother and more comfortable way to travel between the city and the airport.
Delhi Airport Luxury Buses: Boosting Public Transport Use
Currently, around 20 per cent of IGI Airport's passengers use public transport, making it India's best-connected airport. Officials said the new service is expected to raise this share by providing a reliable and comfortable alternative for passengers travelling to and from Noida and Greater Noida.
