Army chief General Bipin Rawat said today that the Indian Army is "not yet ready" for women in combat roles, adding that there are non-combat roles where women are already being inducted. He explained that "facilities" need to be created and women need to undergo "hardships" of a combat role to be battle-ready, and that would still need time.
