West Bengal Dairy Production

The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation, which markets dairy products under the brand name Amul, on Saturday decided to hike milk prices by Rs 2 per litre in Ahmedabad and Saurashtra in Gujarat, Delhi-National Capital Region, West Bengal, Mumbai and Maharashtra from December 15.

Rabri is extensively prepared across North India in parts of Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Parts of West Bengal too relish the creamy delight as part of their dessert fare.

The dairy industry has immense potential in West Bengal as both raw material and demand are present and Amul has already firmed up a Rs 200 crore new processing plant in the state.
