Karti Chidambaram, the son of former Finance minister, P Chidambaram has denied being involved in the Rajasthan ambulance scam, after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered a case of alleged irregularities in which he has been named as one of the accused.

BJP Emerges on Top in Landmark Panchayat Polls in Rajasthan

The panchayat elections in Rajasthan have seen the BJP come out on top. However, the performance does not measure up to the party's landslide victories in the 2013 Assembly and 2014 Lok Sabha elections. The polls were also the first elections that have been held under a new ordinance that mandates some educational qualification for candidates.

The BJP says that a company with connections to the sons of two senior union ministers has gypped the government of crores of rupees in Rajasthan where it's been hired to supply ambulances across the state. The Congress is in power in Rajasthan; it has said the BJP's accusations are baseless.
