Radio Taxi Scheme Of 2006

Clearing the ambiguity over laws governing app-based cabs such as Uber and Ola, the government today said such cabs should be treated like any other taxi service and it will soon issue guidelines on the same to the states.

With an aim to increase the availability of cheap and affordable mode of transport for the public, the Delhi government will introduce a new programme -- City Taxi Scheme 2015 -- in the national capital, Transport Minister Gopal Rai said on Monday.

"The drive will continue till they obtain proper licence under Modified Radio Taxi Scheme 2006 of Transport Department of Delhi."
