Cash Withdrawal Limit At Shops, Petrol Pumps In Cities Increased To Rs 2,000

Reserve Bank today said cash withdrawal limit from Point of Sale in large cities and towns has been doubled to Rs 2,000 per day and customer charges have been waived in the wake of demonitisation of old Rs 500/1000 currency notes.

The Reserve Bank today allowed cash withdrawals of up to Rs 1,000 a day through prepaid cards, including gift cards, issued by banks from point of sale terminals, a move aimed at enhancing customer convenience in using plastic money.
