Pampore Attack: 3 Soldiers Killed After Terrorists Attack Army Convoy Near Srinagar

Three soldiers were killed after an army convoy was attacked by terrorists in Pampore on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway today. Reports said at least two more soldiers were injured in the attack that took place around 20 km from Srinagar.

An encounter with a group of terrorists who are hiding inside a government institute in Pampore, 15 km from Srinagar, has stretched for well over a day. Explosions and gunshots are being heard regularly from within and around the building, used to offer vocational training to young Kashmiris.

Hardly had the guns fallen silent after fierce fighting during Saturday's ambush of a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) contingent by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pampore when a row allegedly erupted between the paramilitary force and the Army over whose personnel killed the terrorists.

At a non-descriptive burial ground, along the Baramulla-Muzaffarabad road in Jammu and Kashmir, the graves of the three Pampore attackers have been kept unmarked. There are no more epitaphs for Pakistani terrorists killed in Kashmir; they are buried nameless near the Line of Control.
