In a gut-wrenching crime that has come to light in Ghaziabad, a mother would torture her 10-year-old daughter to cover up her repeated rape by a male friend and also wanted to push her into prostitution, officials said.

The girl's school teacher saw the injury marks on her body, and called the police. The victim child told the police that she lives with her aunt in RK Puram, and studies in the first grade.
