Nigeria to Load CBDC eNaira With More Features, Aims to Onboard Millions of Unbanked

The government of Nigeria is taking efforts to boost the functional capacity of its digital currency, called the eNaira. The authorities there will soon be allowing eNaira users to create wallets for the CBDC by dialling a four-digit code on their mobile telephones, whether or not they have bank accounts, among other new features.

Airtel, Jio Subscriber Additions Helped Increase Telecom User Base to Over 116.69 Crore: TRAI

Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio’s net subscriber addition has increased the overall telecom user base to over 116.69 crore in March 2022, said TRAI in its monthly report. The new customer additions included both mobile telephones as well as fixed line services segment in March.
