From a Delhi Police sub-inspector to becoming a special judge dealing with several high-profile cases, including the "2G scam", Justice OP Saini has been able to make a name for himself and is among a few trial court judges to enjoy a round-the-clock 'Y' category security cover by the CISF.

A Special 2G court today said it would pronounce on October 15 its order on framing of charges in the 2002 additional spectrum allocation case in which former Telecom Secretary Shyamal Ghosh and three telecom firms are accused.

The matter came up for hearing before Special CBI Judge O P Saini who said that the bail plea of former Telecom Secretary Shyamal Ghosh would also be heard on June 4.

Special CBI Judge O P Saini adjourned today's proceedings in the wake of stay granted by the Supreme Court on separate pleas filed by Mittal and Ruia challenging the March 19 order of the trial court summoning them as accused in the case.
