The National Investigation Agency conducted searches at three places in Hyderabad and Wardha of Maharashtra in connection with an ISIS module case and picked up four suspects for questioning, the agency said.

Eight persons were named by National Investigative Agency on Thursday in a charge sheet for allegedly attempting to carry out a terror strike by using explosive devices similar to those used by ISIS cadres during last year's Paris attacks.

A local court on Tuesday extended till August 24 the judicial custody of seven city-based persons, who were arrested by NIA in connection with a suspected ISIS terror module busted by the agency.

Two key operatives of the Islamic State of Syria and Egypt have been arrested from Hyderabad, sources in the National Investigation agency has said. They are Niamatullah Husseini, 42, who was contributing funds to the Hyderabad cell of the group, and Athaullah Rehman, 30, a motivator and fundraiser.

Investigating a suspected terror module of ISIS in Hyderabad, the NIA today said the accused were tech-savvy and using a modern software to secure their email conversation with their handler in Syria.

Taking forward its probe into the activities of ISIS following the arrest of its five alleged operatives in Hyderabad, the NIA today searched various locations in the city and recovered 17 rounds of ammunition, besides computers and scanners which were used for online communication.
