The stock split, if gets approved by the board will increase liquidity in the stock and will attract more retail investors to invest in the stock, who were otherwise not investing in the stock on account of its high per share value, analysts said.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 23.27 crore in the same quarter of 2014-15, the company said in a BSE filing.

The company said that its results were not comparable as in November 2014, Greenply had demerged its decorative business (comprising of laminates and allied products) with all its assets and liabilities into Greenlam Industries.

The company is yet to finalise the capacity of the new plant, and would be doing so by the first quarter of the next financial year, he added.

The company reported nearly 40 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y) growth in its standalone net profit to Rs 37.03 crore, while its revenue grew 7 per cent y-o-y to Rs 623.41 crore in the second quarter of FY15.

Total income from operations during July-September quarter increased by 6.74 per cent to Rs 623.41 crore from Rs 584.03 crore in the year-ago period, it added.

Greenply Industries on Thursday reported a 2.82 per cent decline in standalone net profit at Rs 28.54 crore for the quarter ended December 31.

Greenply's net sales rose to Rs 540.68 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2013, from Rs 458.37 crore in the year-ago period.
