Criminals in Politics: Law Panel Recommends New Rule for Disqualification

Terming the current rule which disqualifies candidates upon conviction "incapable" of keeping criminals away from electoral politics, the Law Commission has recommended that the disqualification should happen after framing of charges in cases punishable by five years in jail or more.
