Bus Falls Into Himachal River

At least nine people were killed and 25 injured when an overspeeding bus they were travelling in fell from a bridge into a river in Himachal Pradesh's Sirmaur district on Saturday, police said.

A bus has swerved off a mountain road and plunged into a deep ravine in Himachal Pradesh's Shimla district, killing at least 44 people, an official said today. The bus with 56 passengers on board plunged into a river around 115 kilometres from Shimla.

At least 18 people were today killed and 24 others injured when a private bus plunged into the Beas river near Vindravani in Mandi district, about 155 km from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh.

At least six people were killed and 12 others injured when a private tourist bus from Punjab skidded off the road and fell into the swollen Parvati River in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu district today, police said.
