Alstom Bharat Forge Power Pvt Ltd, the joint venture company between GE and Bharat Forge Ltd, has signed a contract to supply two steam turbines worth $219 million (Rs 1,495 crore) to state-owned NTPC Ltd.

Alstom Bharat Forge Power, a joint venture of Bharat Forge with France's Alstom, has commenced production at its new Rs 1,350-crore manufacturing facility at Sanand in Gujarat for making supercritical turbines and generators.

Consolidation of subsidiaries along with improving product mix are likely to boost profitability of the company, analysts said.
