Assam Child Marriage Ban

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today said his government has taken a significant step to ensure justice for girls by putting additional safeguards against child marriage.

Assam formed a five-member committee under the Chairmanship of Advocate General of Assam Devajit Lon Saikia to draft appropriate legislation to ban polygamy and other related issues.
