Asian Games gold medalist Ashok Shandilya was forced to miss his matches at the National Billiards and Snooker Championship in Kolkata, after an unidentified miscreant set his car's tyre ablaze in the early hours of Sunday.

Pankaj Advani posted a best break of 128 while getting past fellow Indian Arun Agarwal at the World Billiards Championship while elsewhere Dhvaj Haria, Alok Kumar, Dhruv Sitwala, Rupesh Shah, Devendra Joshi and Ashok Shandilya also came through their respective opening league matches.

Rupesh follows in the heels of illustrious champions like Geet Sethi, Ashok Shandilya, Devendra Joshi, Pankaj Advani and Alok Kumar.
