  • The much anticipated 5 series with a booster shot from BMW's M division is now available in India. With its 4.4 litre twin turbocharged V8 churning out 560PS of power, the M5 does 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and is capable of hitting 305 km/h with the ‘M' driver's package. It carries a price tag of Rs 95 lakhs ex-showroom.
  • The very popular Audi Q7 now armed with a V12 engine gets more potent and powerful. The Audi Q7 V12 TDI quattro enjoys the distinction of being the most powerful diesel engine SUV. The twelve cylinder diesel doesn't sacrifice on fuel efficiency.
  • Toyota's all-new Camry looks a lot different from the one available in India, with its angular design. The new version has become a huge hit the world over and would be produced fully in India. We predict the all new Camry would have a good run in India.
  • Iconic automobile designer Dilip Chabbria launched what is being termed as India's first supercar. DC Design's Avanti could see a limited release by the start of 2013 and is expected to carry a price tag of Rs 30 lakhs.
  • Pixel was earlier seen at the Geneva Motor Show one year ago and attracted a large audience. It will have a three cylinder petrol and diesel engine besides having a turning radius of 2.6 meters. We doubt if this would ever actually come into production, but does give us a glimpse at what the Nano might become in the coming years.
  • Just when we though the wait would never end, BMW has finally decided to launch the iconic Mini Cooper in India. The Mini Cooper, Cooper S, Mini Cooper Convertible and Mini Cooper S Countryman priced Rs 25 lakh to 32 lakh will now be available in India.
  • Auto giant Ford has decided to redo its India strategy with some aggressive marketing and a new product line. Ecosport is the second of eight products slated to be launched in India by 2015. The company has not disclosed the price of the SUV, but the beautiful beast looks more than ready to rule Indian roads.
  • The new version of Hyundai's Sonata priced in the range of Rs.16-17 lakh is expected to be launched by February-end. The sedan is powered by a 2.4 litre GDI (gasoline direct injection) petrol engine.
  • The Toyota Innova gets a mid-career makeover with new a front end - new headlamps, grille, bumper design and fog lamps. Interiors get a mild spruce up with a touch screen display in car entertainment unit dominating the center console. The Multi-Purpose Vehicle is priced between INR 9.4 Lakhs to INR 13.19 Lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi.
  • Renault has finally launched its premium compact hatchback Pulse. The 1.5 dCi engine of Pulse will deliver peak torque of 160 Nm at 2000 rpm and generate 63 hp at 4000 rpm to give a fuel economy of around 23.08 kmpl. It is priced between 5-7 lakh to 6.25 lakh.
  • The next-generation Safari comes with a new front grille, new projector headlamps and a ‘power bulge' on the bonnet. The new Safari Storm is powered by a 2.2-litre 16-valve common rail (DiCOR) engine that produces 140PS of power and 320Nm of torque.
  • Harley Davidson looks eager to increase their portfolio in India. The company has knocked down prices of two models -- the FXDB Street Bob and the exciting FXDC Super Glide Custom, which will now cost Rs 11.5 lakhs (ex -show room Delhi) as against the earlier price of Rs 15.45 lakh. The custom bits include fenders, fuel tanks, handlebars, footpegs and other detailing elements typical to Harley-Davidsons.
  • Triumph motorcycles has launched the flagshi Rocket III Roadster. The three cylinder bike is a heavy duty 2294 cc engine which is the largest displacement engine for any mass produced motorcycle. It carries a price tag of Rs 22 lakh.
  • The iconic Vespa re-entered the Indian market after 13 years as parent Piaggio unveiled its range of scooters at the Expo. The scooter will be launched in the country in April 2012 and would be available in 35 cities across the country.
  • Tiger 800XC, Triumph's world-famous adventure bike is all set to burn some serious rubber on Indian roads at a smart price of Rs 11.4 lakh.
  • Ducati surprised everyone when they launched the Monster 795 for a price of Rs 6.99 lakh. Expected pricing for the Ducati Monster 795 was in the range of Rs 5-6 lakh. However, Ducati India has been quick to make amends and announce a special introductory price for the Monster 795 - Rs 5.99 lakh, ex-showroom. This limited period offer makes the Ducati Monster 795, now even more affordable.
  • Royal Enfield India unveiled the Thunderbird 500 at the Auto Expo 2012. Not only has the Thunderbird got an engine upgrade but it also gets a host of new features which is sure to attract more customers. And after that it is now in 2012 that the Thunderbird gets another engine upgrade - a fuel injected 500cc UCE with 27.2PS of power at 5250rpm and 41.3NM of torque at 4000rpm. Apart from the bigger engine, the Thunderbird now sports Bybre 280mm front and 240mm rear disc brakes.
  • Two-wheeler major Hero MotoCorp unveiled its first hybrid scooter Leap at Auto Expo 2012. Pawan Munjal , CEO and MD of the company said Hero Leap has been developed with technological support from an international consultant. The scooter will run on battery as well as petrol.
