US Senator Edward Kennedy dies

    Kennedy, a lion of the American left and the last of the brothers who ruled US politics for years, died of brain cancer on August 26, 2009. He was 77. One of the most influential and longest-serving senators in US history, Kennedy had been battling brain cancer, which was diagnosed in May 2008. (AFP Photo)
