As many as 800 people joined the Walkathon in Jaipur. Manavjit Singh Sandhu, Indian sports shooter, flagged off the event and expressed his opinion on the importance of organ donation in a well-populated country like India.

People showed up in large numbers to support the Walkathon. "The liver has a very special capability of regenerating. So if a person decides to donate, a part of his liver can be harvested, which can regenerate in the body of the donor and the recipient." Liver Specialist, Dr. Gupta from Fortis Jaipur told NDTV during the Walkathon.

The day began early in the pink city with almost 800 people registering to walk in support of organ donation.

Mr. Prateek Tamboli, ZD, Fortis encouraged people to pledge their organs today, "Rajasthan is going for the polls. Go and vote for organ donation," he said.
