Pre-Monsoon Shower Brings City To Standstill, Flights Diverted, Flooding In Several Areas

Heavy rains lashed several parts of Mumbai bringing much needed respite from heat and humidity. The low-lying areas in the city have flooded, bringing the traffic to a grinding halt. Hindmata, in south central Mumbai, and areas outside Bandra-Kurla Complex are completely inundated. The weather department has forecast heavy rains in the next 48 hours. While some flights to Mumbai have been diverted, local trains continue to function on schedule.
