NDTV-Dettol Banega Swasth India Is Back With Season 9; The Objectve This Year Is Lakshya - Sampoorn Swasthya Ka

Campaign Ambassador Amitabh Bachchan sets the agenda for the NDTV-Dettol Banega Swasth India season 9 - Lakshya - Sampoorn Swasthya Ka and starts off the 12-hour LIVE telethon. With ‘health for all' as the core focus of the new season of India's largest and longest televised public health campaign. Mr Bachchan made a clarion call to all to join hands and work together towards building a healthier India.

The season nine of the NDTV-Dettol Banega Swasth India campaign is focused on the theme of ‘Lakshya - Sampoorn Swasthya Ka'. At the 12-hour telethon, organised for the launch of season 9, Playback Singer Javed Ali performed the campaign anthem and gave the message of building a holistic healthy India for all. The anthem has been penned by Prasoon Joshi and composed by Shantanu Moitra.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar praised the NDTV-Dettol Banega Swasth India campaign, which is India's largest and longest-running televised public health campaign and its annual tradition of hosting the 12-hour televised Telethon. The aim of the campaign has been to improve public awareness of crucial issues related to health. The Vice President shared a letter of appreciation ahead of the launch of season 9 on October 2.

At the NDTV-Dettol Banega Swasth India Season 9 telethon, Gaurav Jain, Senior Vice President - South Asia Reckitt shares his company's commitment towards building a clean and healthy India. Mr Jain talks about programmes like Reach Each Child and Diarrhoea Net Zero focused on improving the health of mothers and children.

Mika Singh, Singer, Composer, and Actor brings his energy to the NDTV-Dettol Banega Swasth India's Lakshya - Sampoorn Swasthya Ka 12-hour telethon with his enthralling performance. Mika performs a bunch of his hits songs and gets everyone grooving.

Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, joined the NDTV-Dettol Banega Swasth India's 12-hour telethon - Lakshya - Sampoorn Swasthya Ka where he emphasised on individual health. Mr Gadkari talked about his personal health and fitness journey. He also spoke about waste management.

At the NDTV-Dettol Banega Swasth India's Lakshya - Sampoorn Swasthya Ka 12-hour Telethon, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh talked about his government's two focus areas - health and health. CM Singh agreed that ASHA workers are not paid enough but ensured that in Manipur, the remuneration for the India's health heroes will be increased.

Kavita Seth, Singer and Member of Karwaan Group enthralled the viewers of the NDTV-Dettol Banega Swasth India's Lakshya - Sampoorn Swasthya Ka 12-hour Telethon with her melodious voice. Ms Seth performed two of her songs - Jeete Hain Chal To Rangi Saari.

At the NDTV-Dettol Banega Swasth India's Lakshya - Sampoorn Swasthya Ka Telethon, actor Sonu Sood expressed his gratitude towards ASHA workers and their relentless service to the nation. He said. "ASHAs have helped build a great network to reach the most remote places in the country."

A panel of experts discussed India's achievements in the health sector in the last 75 years including India's fight against iodine deficiency and taking healthcare to rural areas.

Reckitt is teaching children about health and hygiene through comic books and the iconic character Chacha Chaudhary. At the NDTV-Dettol Banega Swasth India's Lakshya - Sampoorn Swasthya Ka telethon, Jaaved Jaaferi, Actor, Producer, Choreographer and Voice Artist, read a story from Reckitt's comic book and enacted multiple characters.

Rhythms of Manipur, a music band from the state of Manipur gave a fervent performance on the stage of Lakshya - Sampoorn Swasthya Bharat Ka telethon. Interestingly, the musical instruments the use are completely biodegradable which means no plastic and no waste burden on the planet earth.

Palak Muchhal, Playback Singer, National Award Winner and Guinness World Record Holder performed some of her songs. The melodious voice and the popular Bollywood songs added colours to the event.

At the NDTV-Dettol Banega Swasth India's Lakshya - Sampoorn Swasthya Ka Telethon, Actor and Climate Warrior Bhumi Pednekar discussed the adverse effects of climate change. Ms Pednekar believes it is the need of the hour for people to become responsible for their actions and become a part of the solution for mitigating the climate crisis.

Ravi Bhatnagar, Director, External Affairs and Partnerships SOA, Reckitt joined the NDTV-Dettol Banega Swasth India's Lakshya - Sampoorn Swasthya Ka telethon and talked the role of ASHA workers in building a Swasth India. Mr Bhatnagar shared Reckitt's association with healthcare workers and the importance of handwashing in eradicating diseases.

Shershah fame Sidharth Malhotra spoke about the pivotal role of fitness and exercising daily at the NDTV-Dettol Banega Swasth India's 12-hour Lakshya - Sampoorn Swasthya Ka telethon. He said, "I try and balance my life to make my body fit and not an obstacle in my work. For me, it is not the number of hours, it is a routine. I do yoga, meditate or do martial arts."

Dr Soumya Swaminathan, Chief Scientist, World Health Organisation (WHO) shared the three key learnings from the COVID-19 pandemic - climate change, public health approach and good data and research for community engagement. Dr Swaminathan also spoke about vaccine efficacy and the fact that vaccines have saved 20 million lives.

A blockbuster version of 'Shava Shava' with the one and only Amitabh Bachchan and NDTV's Dr Prannoy Roy as they matched moves at NDTV-Dettol Banega Swasth India's 12-hour Telethon - Lakshya - Sampoorn Swasthya Ka.

Actor Rashmika Mandanna spoke about building a relationship between a child and family that encourages the conversation around reproductive and sexual health.

"The whole digital revolution in healthcare is phenomenal. The number is huge. From telemedicine to medicine from the sky, this covers the entire spectrum of basic healthcare. Massive improvements have been made in the sector," said NITI Aayog CEO Parameswaran Iyer.

Speaking at the NDTV-Dettol Banega Swasth India's Lakshya - Sampoorn Swasthya Ka telethon, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said the Maharashtra government prioritised healthcare and worked towards the betterment of the sector. He said that strengthening primary health care (PHC) and ensuring better services would also remain in the government's focus. 'It's important to get primary healthcare for people. Our government is a government for the common people. We will double the budget for health," Mr Shinde said.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot detailed the state government's work towards improving the healthcare structure. The government provides Rs 10 lakh insurance to patients with heart issues, so they can receive appropriate treatment. The Outpatient Department (OPD), Inpatient department (IPD), and the tests are free.

Dia Mirza, Actor, Eco-Investor, UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador & UN Secretary-General's Advocate for SDGs joined the discussion on 'women's health'. Ms Mirza spoke about being a mother, the challenge of not being able to meet her son for two and a half months and the working mother's guilt.

Navya Naveli Nanda, Founder, Project Naveli and Co-founder, Aara Health talked about adolescent sexual and reproductive health. She said, "Menstruation is a sign of life and we should not be ashamed of it."

Saving the best for the last, the 12-hour Banega Swasth India telethon ended with an electrifying performance by choreographer Ganesh Acharya.
