Jewish Centre Targeted in Mumbai 26/11 Attacks Reopens

Six years after terrorists attacked Chabad Centre in Mumbai's Nariman House, home to the ultra-orthodox Jewish movement Chabad-Lubavitch, it finally opened its gates again today.

In this photo:Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg was shot by Pakistani terrorists who stormed the Jewish home, Nairman House at 9:45 pm on November 26, 2008. Gavriel suffered a volley of bullets which went passed his body and hit the wall. The embedded bullets have been preserved as part of the memorial.

For several days and nights security forces battled the terrorists who had taken six people hostage. Heavy firing and explosions were constantly heard after the National Security Guards were air-dropped by a helicopter.

Thousands of bullets were fired from AK 47 rifles which hit the walls and ceiling of the six-storey building. Six Jews were murdered in cold blood at the Chabad House.

Nariman house also known as Chabad is a Jewish establishment for travelling members of the community. It is located in Colaba in South Mumbai.

This was baby Moshe's room. In this picture, Jewish alphabets can bee seen painted on the wall for Moshe to learn. Both of baby Moshe's parents were killed in the attack.
