India Crosses 15-Lakh Mark In Coronavirus Cases; Other Top Stories

India raced towards the second spot in the list of nations hit worst by the coronavirus pandemic, crossing the 1.5 million mark this evening. The total figure in the country currently stands at 15,24,168. Brazil is currently in the second spot with 2.4 million cases, preceded by the US, which has 4.2 million cases. Overall, 16.5 million people contracted the disease around the world, with 654,860 fatalities.
In a sign of the deepening rift between constitutional institutions in Rajasthan, the state government, in its third proposal to state governor Kalraj Mishra, has reiterated its demand to convene an assembly session from July 31 - but did not mention whether it will seek a trust vote in the House.
