Janata Dal Secular's HD Kumaraswamy was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Karnataka on Wednesday, at a mega-gathering, attended by Congress president Rahul Gandhi, his mother Sonia and strong regional leaders like Mamata Banerjee, Mayawati and Arvind Kejriwal. The Congress-JDS combine had planned the event in a way that would serve as a giant display of opposition unity against BJP.
