Dedicated CWG traffic lanes spell doom
Delhi commuters are in the midst of a manic Monday after the lane reservation for Commonwealth Games came into effect from 8am to 8pm today. At 1 pm, there were reports of traffic jam from the Yamuna Bridge to ITO on the other side of Games Village.

Jams were also reported from the IP metro station towards IP Park on the ring road and on NH 24 near CWG Village to Nizamuddin Bridge.
Jams could also be seen at the DND flyway, Dhaula Kuan-Sardar Patel Marg, Dhaula Kuan-South Campus-Ring Road, Moti Bagh and Maharani Bagh. -
"I started from Noida at 8:30 am and reached Connaught Place two hours later. The traffic through DND flyover was a horrifying experience," said S Chandrabhanu, a media professional.
Anyone deliberately straying into the lanes while they are operational will attract a fine of Rs. 2,000. Yesterday, Delhi Police challaned 17 people for deliberately entering Games lanes.
