Protests in Bengaluru against new rules for provident fund withdrawals escalated into a riot today as buses and cars were burnt and massive traffic jams were reported across the city.
Thousands of workers blocked traffic on the highway, causing five-hour jams in the IT city.
The mob also set afire vehicles parked near the police station.
Several vehicles were vandalised and torched by protesters.
