A Maldivian odyssey

The sun rises on the shores of Maldives to mark the beginning of a beautiful journey.

Travelling between islands in Maldives is done by the Maldivian Air Taxi.

These Air Taxis are usually an 8-seater sea plane that operate only on water.

The view from the sea planes is as serene as the clam blue waters in the ocean.

One can see a queue of the sea plane from the main airport. It is fascinating!

The pilots wearing shorts and beach slippers get ready to take off.

The propellers start rotating, the sign of an amazing air borne journey...

The water, now the runway for this plane gushes under its force.

And then, one can't help but look at the splendid view that Maldives has to offer...

Islands sprouting out of nowhere.

Intercepted by on board service of some sparkling water.

Above the clouds, enhancing the splendid beauty that nature has to offer.

The pilot gets ready to descend at the destination.

I saw a lush green tropical island emerge, straight out of a Hollywood movie.

And there we were at the smallest airport I had ever been to, the Soneva Fushi International Airport.

The luggage was taken out by hand on this raft-airport.

And while we were ferried to the island, the Maldivian Air taxi got ready to fly back to another raft international airport.

A sea plane journey that was novel and in connect with the natural beauty the world has to offer.
