Badmaash Company is an extraordinary story set in the 1990's in middle class Bombay (as it was known then), of four ordinary youngsters (Shahid Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Meiyang Chang and Vir Das), who come together to start an import business of things longed for by yuppie Indians!
Bollywood's latest hunk Shahid Kapoor, who hasn't had a great outing this year, returns with Badmaash Company opposite Anushka Sharma.
It is for the first time that Shahid and Anushka have been paired together.
Badmaash Company will be Anushka's second film. The petite actress made her acting debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Yash Raj Films' Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.
Shahid's last two releases Chance Pe Dance (2010) and Dil Bole Hadippa (2009) flopped at the Box Office.
Shahid Kapoor plays Karan, who is genius, a middle class boy, with a dream to make millions... fast!! But the typical middle class values of his stern and principled father make this dream a distant one. Till one day he thinks of a "big idea" to make it all achievable!
Karan and his friends set out to do all the wrong things... the right way. Their "Badmaash Company" makes the foursome the youngest millionaires in town, and they start to live their dream! But friendship and money make uneasy partners. Add to this Karan's fatal flaw - his ego.
Anushka Sharma plays Bulbul, a small town girl, hungry to make it in the big city of dreams, Mumbai. And she's not going to let her golden heart stop her. But encounters with the sleazy side of the modelling world force her to abandon her big dream... till she meets Karan, with whom she shares an even bigger dream.
Bulbul becomes one of the foursome of Badmaash Company, and gives away her heart to Karan. In all her unconventional life, this one conventional step takes Bulbul on the roller-coaster ride, which Karan's life is!
