The Finance Minister has imposed a customs duty of 5 percent on set-top boxes. This means that new imported set-top boxes would be marginally expensive.
LCD television sets are set to get cheaper. The Finance Minister has proposed a reduction of the basic customs duty on LCD panels from 10 percent to 5 percent.
